Kyle Komiega

Kyle's drawings form like cocoons of gesture. Layers of pencil, pastel, marker, and even highlighter are drawn on top of one another until what is left are figures resembling insects, or earrings, floating in an empty space that itself sometimes catches and fills up completely. His first show, which he chose to title "Rock 'N' Roll Heaven", suggests the figures are dead rock stars, floating in a place of pure music.
